More than 4000 of the F-16 Fighting Falcon has been built. It is known by its pet name as the "Viper" coined by pilots who has flown this aircraft. The F16 was developed in the United States by General Dynamics before they sold  their aircraft business to the Lockheed Corporation in 1993.
