Mustang Airplane in Flight: The P-51 Mustang, was designed by North American Aviation specially for the Royal Air Force. The Mustang was powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin V-12 Piston engine made by Packard. They first entered combat in 1943 over Europe escorting bombers.
