The Hillman Imp Saloon was design by Michael Parkes and Tim Fry in 1955 but was not available to the public until 8 years after in 1963. The Hillman Imp Saloon was equipped with an ex-Coventry Climax 874cc Straight-4 Overhead Camshaft aluminium alloy engine fitted in rare of the Imp.
Hillman Imp had many innovative ideas; Aluminium alloy engine, Overhead Camshaft, Pneumatic Throttle and King-pins running in sealed plastic bearings.
